The graph below shows the number of shops that closed in the number of new shops that opened in one country between 2011 and 2018.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. 

The line graph shows how many shops were established and shut down in a country in a 7-year period (from 2011 to 2018). Overall, the number of openings was at its highest level and finished the period at the lowest point. However, the closures, beginning at a lower level than openings, remained generally higher than that of openings throughout the period except for the years 2011 and 2015, and ended the period slightly above the number of openings.

In 2011, the openings were at 8500 but fell sharply to just under 4000 in the following year. The figure recovered quickly in the next two years, reaching a little over 6000 in 2014. In contrast, the number of stores which opened fell to 4000 in 2012. It stayed almost constant until 2017 before hitting a low of 3000 in the final year.

Closures began lower, at 6500, in 2011, experienced a period of fluctuation in the first three years and peaked at 7000 in 2013. The closures, which had begun to decline in 2014, dropped dramatically, hitting a low of 500 in the next year. Since then, the trend reversed, increasing rapidly, rose above the number of openings again and reached just over 5000 in 2016. The closures saw a period of relative stability until 2017 and finished the period with a modest decline in 2018.
